FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

​Is there tuition for this school?

No. This is a public charter school. However, if you live outside of Baltimore City and your child is accepted to The Empowerment Academy, you will pay a tuition to Baltimore City, not to the school itself.

How can I get my child enrolled?

You must first call the school for an application. In order to have a completed application, you must provide a Birth Certificate, two proofs of residency, and immunization records. Applications are due by February 5, 2020.

What ages are students able to enroll?

Parents of students who are of Pre-Kindergarten (Age 4 as of September 1st) through middle school age can request an application for their children.

What is the school's inclement weather policy?

We use the Baltimore City Public School System policy.

 

What ages are accepted in the After Care Program?

Children in the After School Program are accepted starting
at Pre-Kindergarten. Please contact Magic Minds, our after care provider, for more information.

 

Does the Empowerment Academy teach Religion?

No. Because we are a public school, we do not teach religion. We do teach the six pillars of the Character Counts program.

What happens if parents do not adhere to the contract that they signed during the admission process?

Families not adhering to the signed contract will result in a conference with Administration regarding the best learning environment and school for your family.
